Most lessons are 30 minutes long. However, some subscription track lessons offered are 45 minutes to an hour long.

Leisure pool: 88 degrees

50 meter pool: 82 degrees

Scera pool: 82-85 degrees (weather dependant)

The lead instructor will direct swimmers and families to a location where they will meet each day. Cones will also be placed on the pool deck to direct you.

Parents should sit in the bleachers to promote an environment free from distractions. If your swimmer needs your help the lead instructor will come get you.

We encourage you to let us help! Our instructors and lead instructors will do whatever is necessary to help your child feel more comfortable and confident in the water.

For our subscription lessons our lead instructor will have each swimmer’s station information listed on their clipboard. However, progress reports can be requested through our website and will be sent out via email.

For the traditional two week lessons parents will be emailed a digital copy of their swimmer’s progress report at the end of the session.

Swimmers are promoted to the next station once they have mastered the current station’s skills. Swimmers can advance through more than one station per class/session.

When the instructor feels your child is ready to move on to the next swim school, the lead instructor will come and evaluate your child’s skills for advancement.

For our subscription lessons we do not guarantee your swimmer will have the same instructor for each class. We want your swimmer to have an opportunity to experience different teaching styles and not force your swimmer with one instructor they may have been struggling to connect with. All of our instructors are great and we will do all we can to ensure your swimmer has an enjoyable time.

For our traditional two week lessons your child will be assigned the same instructor for the two week period. However, there may be times when the instructor is sick where a sub will be provided.

For our subscription lessons your credit card will be billed the 1st of each month.

For our traditional two week lessons payment will be due at registration.

Please contact our Aquatics Coordinator Katie Jeffreys at 801-229-7454 or kmjeffreys@orem.org. All requests need to be submitted with at least one week’s notice.

Planned absence: If you know you have a conflict for a particular lesson, please fill out a planned absence google form found on our website. All planned absences need to be submitted at least 24 hours in advance in order to be eligible for a courtesy lesson later in the month.

Courtesy Lesson: Courtesy lessons are offered for those who have submitted a planned absence google form 24 hours prior to the missed lesson.  Courtesy lessons are on a first come, first serve basis and cannot be transferred to another swimmer and the swimmer must be actively enrolled in our subscription lessons. Courtesy lessons cannot be redeemed for credit and have no monetary value.

Unplanned absence make-up lesson: To ensure we keep our classes with the appropriate instructor to student ratio we do not offer unplanned absence make up lessons.

If your swimmer is going to extend for an extended period of time due to an unforeseen event such as an injury we can withdraw them from our program and give credit back to your account. We do need a doctor’s note to attach to your file.

To avoid being charged the following month you need to submit a withdrawal form by the 15th. Withdrawal forms can be found on our website.

Please contact our Aquatics Coordinator, Katie Jeffreys at 801-229-7454 or kmjeffreys@orem.org.

Please refrain from having your child wear nose clips or snorkels. Wearing nose clips and snorkel goggles prevent swimmers from learning the necessary breathing skills when learning how to swim (i.e. blowing bubbles).

We understand some of our swimmers will need to wear ear plugs due to medical conditions/concerns. Please let your instructor know if this is the case.

If your child is 9 or older and it is during our open swim times your child may swim before or after their lesson if they have a pass to the facility or have paid the daily admission fee. If your child is under 9 years of age a parent/guardian who is 14 years of age or older needs to be in the water with them while they swim.

While we understand something may come up that would require your child to miss their lesson we do not offer a make-up lesson. Please do your best to make it to your lessons.

Yes, however your child will need to be at least 9 years of age or older to swim by themselves and have a membership to our facility or pay the daily admission fee. If your child is under the age of 9 a parent/guardian who is 14 years of age or older will need to be in the water with them.

Lessons are typically not made up due to varying lengths on months and some months having 5 lessons not 4.
